Samsung Lions Beat KT Wiz in 12 Innings to Even Korean Series
The Samsung Lions beat the KT Wiz 3-2 in 12 innings as Lewin Díaz delivered four hits and scored the winning run to tie the Korean Series.

The Samsung Lions beat the KT Wiz 3-2 in 12 innings at Suwon KT Wiz Park on Wednesday, November 4, tying the 2026 Korean Series at one game apiece after a four-hour, 21-minute pitching duel.
Lewin Díaz drove in Samsung’s first two runs, finished 4-for-5 and scored the winner in the 12th when KT failed to complete a potential inning-ending double play. The best-of-seven championship now moves to Daegu for Game 3 on Friday.
Díaz drives Samsung’s offense
Díaz opened the scoring in the second inning with an RBI triple that brought home Choi Hyoung-woo. It was his first triple since joining the KBO, and it gave Samsung a 1-0 lead against KT starter Ko Young-pyo.
KT answered in the fourth. Sam Hilliard doubled, advanced on Kim Hyun-soo’s fly ball and scored when Heo Kyoung-min’s two-out hit dropped beyond shortstop Lee Jae-hyun.
The 1-1 score held through nine innings as both starters worked seven strong frames. Samsung’s Chris Paddack allowed one run on eight hits, struck out three and issued one free pass over 102 pitches. Ko matched him with one run on seven hits, four strikeouts and no walks.
Two extra-inning leads
Samsung moved ahead in the 10th when Díaz lined a two-out RBI single to right off Jeon Yong-ju. KT immediately answered. Jang Jin-hyuk singled, Ahn Hyun-min reached on an infield hit and Díaz mishandled Hilliard’s ground ball to load the bases. Won Tae-in then walked Kim Hyun-soo to force in the tying run.
Díaz was in the middle of the decisive play two innings later. Park Seung-kyu singled, Díaz avoided a double play after a video review and Kim Sang-jun followed with another hit. Lee Jae-hyun then hit a grounder back to pitcher Woo Kyu-min.
Woo threw to second for one out, but second baseman Oh Yun-seok bobbled the transfer before making an off-line throw to first. Kim Hyun-soo could not secure it, and Díaz raced home from second for a 3-2 lead.
Left-hander Bae Chan-seung retired KT in the bottom of the 12th to record the save. The victory erased Samsung’s 8-7 loss in Game 1 and sends the series to Daegu Samsung Lions Park level at 1-1.
What comes next
Game 3 is scheduled for Friday, November 6, at 6:30 p.m. KST in Daegu. After splitting two games in Suwon, Samsung now has home field for the middle three games of the series.
