Editorial Mission

Why World Baseball News exists and what we aim to deliver.

World Baseball News covers professional and international baseball, from Major League Baseball to leagues and competitions across Europe, Asia, and beyond. Our mission is to report on the games, players, leagues, and storylines that matter to baseball fans, clearly, accurately, and independently, wherever in the world they're following the sport from.

We aim to be a reliable source for baseball news, statistics, and context, whether a reader is following a well-covered league like MLB or a competition that receives far less international media attention.

02

Accuracy and Sourcing

How we verify what we publish, and who it applies to.

Accuracy comes first. Before publication, our editorial process is designed to verify facts against official league sources, statistical partners, on-the-record statements, and other reliable, verifiable sources. Where a claim is significant or contested, we look to confirm it through more than one source before it runs.

This standard applies equally to every article, whether it carries a named individual byline or the collective "World Baseball News Editorial Team" byline described below. Byline format does not change the level of editorial scrutiny a piece receives.

03

Corrections

What happens when we get something wrong.

We correct errors as soon as they're identified. When a published article is found to contain a factual mistake, we update it promptly and, for substantive corrections, note clearly on the article that a correction was made.

  • Minor corrections (typos, formatting) are fixed without a separate note.
  • Substantive corrections (a wrong name, score, date, or statistic) are flagged on the article itself.
  • Readers who spot a possible error are encouraged to reach out using the contact details in the Contact and Accountability section.
04

Bylines and Authorship

How our named and collective bylines work.

World Baseball News publishes content under two kinds of byline: named individual authors, and the collective byline "World Baseball News Editorial Team."

The "World Baseball News Editorial Team" byline represents a real editorial team, not a placeholder or a single person. It may include journalists, current or former players, broadcasters, league officials, and other baseball specialists who contribute reporting, analysis, or insight but do not always publish under their own individual name, for professional or privacy reasons explained further in the next section.

Content published under this byline goes through the same editorial standards described in Accuracy and Sourcing as any individually bylined article.

To keep this policy accurate as our team grows, we don't list individual author names here. Instead:

05

Anonymous and Private Contributors

Why some contributors don't publish under their own name.

Some of the reporting, analysis, or insight behind our articles comes from people who cannot or prefer not to be publicly named, including current or former players, coaches, broadcasters, league personnel, and other industry professionals. Common reasons include employment or contractual restrictions, competitive sensitivity, or a personal preference for privacy.

In these cases, contributions are published under the "World Baseball News Editorial Team" byline rather than an individual name. Every such contribution is reviewed and edited by our editorial team under the same accuracy and sourcing standards as named, bylined content, and World Baseball News takes editorial responsibility for it.

06

Statistics and Transactions

How we source and maintain fast-moving stats and transaction news.

Statistics, standings, and transaction reporting (trades, signings, roster moves, and similar) are sourced from official league data, recognized statistical providers, and other verifiable public sources. Because this kind of information changes quickly and is sometimes revised by leagues themselves, we update our coverage promptly when new or corrected information becomes available.

Historical statistics and records are reviewed periodically to reflect official changes made by a league or statistical authority, such as a league's own record-book updates.

07

International and Local-Language Reporting

Covering baseball across countries, leagues, and languages.

Baseball is played and followed well beyond Major League Baseball, and our coverage reflects that. Reporting on international leagues and competitions may draw on local-language sources, translated interviews or statements, and reporting relationships specific to a given country or region.

The same accuracy and sourcing standards described earlier in this policy apply to our international coverage as they do to our MLB coverage. Where a quote or statement is translated, we aim to preserve its original meaning and context as closely as possible.

08

Sponsored Content and Advertising

Keeping paid content and independent journalism clearly separated.

Any sponsored, paid, or promotional content on World Baseball News is clearly labeled as such, so it's never mistaken for independent editorial coverage.

Advertising and sponsorship relationships play no role in our editorial decisions. Our editorial team decides what to cover and how to cover it independently of our commercial and advertising operations.

09

Contact and Accountability

How to reach us, and how we hold ourselves accountable.

We welcome questions, feedback, correction requests, and story tips from readers. You can reach our editorial team at worldbaseball.info@gmail.com.

This Editorial Policy is reviewed periodically to make sure it continues to reflect how World Baseball News actually operates, and it will be updated as our team and coverage grow.
