Baseball in Germany
Germany has one of the largest baseball communities in Europe, with clubs from Hamburg to Munich. The DBL is run by the German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV), and its best clubs also play in European club competitions. Many German national team players play in the league, alongside imports from the Americas and Australia.
How the DBL season works
The 12 clubs are split into a North and a South division. In 2026 the regular season ran from April 10 to June 21. The top three teams of each division then play an Interleague round, while the other clubs compete in a Wild Card race for the remaining play-off places. Eight teams reach the play-offs: quarterfinals, semifinals and the final for the German championship.
