The Samsung Lions beat the KT Wiz 10-5 in Game 4 of the 2026 Korean Series on Saturday, November 7, taking a 3-1 lead and moving within one victory of their first KBO championship in 12 years.

Samsung answered an early deficit with a record six-run first inning at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, then held off KT’s middle-inning push for its third consecutive win in the best-of-seven series. The Lions can clinch the title in Game 5 at the same stadium on Sunday.

Six-run first inning changes Game 4

KT struck first when Jang Jin-hyuk homered on the ninth pitch of the game. Samsung’s response came with two outs in the bottom half against Logan Allen.

Lewin Díaz tied the game with an RBI single and Kim Young-woong followed with the go-ahead hit. Lee Jae-hyeon walked to load the bases before Ryu Ji-hyuk was hit by a pitch, forcing home Samsung’s third run.

Kim Do-hwan then drove a bases-clearing double to the right-field warning track, stretching the lead to 6-1. Samsung sent 11 hitters to the plate, and the six runs set a KBO postseason record for the bottom of the first inning.

Park Seung-kyu delivers three RBIs

Park Seung-kyu added an RBI single in the third and a two-run double off the left-field wall in the fifth. The No. 2 hitter finished with three RBIs as Samsung restored its cushion after KT scored three times in the top of the fifth.

Koo Ja-wook’s RBI double in the seventh made it 10-4. Kim Min-hyuck homered as a pinch hitter in the eighth for KT’s final run.

Nineteen-year-old Jang Chan-hee gave Samsung four innings of one-run baseball in his first postseason start. Lee Jae-hee earned the win by retiring all eight hitters he faced over 2 2/3 perfect innings, striking out three.

The teams combined for 19 walks and hit-by-pitches, the most in Korean Series history, but Samsung’s early contact proved decisive. KT starter Logan Allen was charged with six runs on five hits, three walks and a hit batter.

Samsung closes in on first title since 2014

Samsung has won three straight games since losing the opener 8-7. A Game 5 victory would deliver the Lions’ first Korean Series championship since 2014.

Only one team has recovered from a 3-1 deficit in 19 previous Korean Series instances: the 2013 Samsung Lions. KT now needs to repeat that comeback against the same franchise to keep its season alive.
