KIA Tigers scored five runs before recording their first out and beat the LG Twins 6-3 on Sunday at Gwangju-KIA Champions Field, taking a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five KBO semi-playoff.

Park Jae-hyun opened the rally with a single and stole second before Kim Do-yeong walked. Harold Castro drove in the first run with a single, Na Sung-bum followed with an RBI double and Kim Sun-bin drove a two-run double into the left-center gap.
Han Jun-su then doubled home Sun-bin for a 5-0 lead. LG starter Im Chan-kyu was removed after retiring only one batter, charged with five earned runs on six hits and one walk over one-third of an inning.
The Twins’ bullpen stopped the game from getting away. Jon Kennedy, Lee Woo-chan, Woo Kang-hoon and Son Ju-young combined to hold KIA scoreless through the sixth, giving LG an opportunity to work back into the game.
Oller keeps LG from completing a comeback
LG scored in the third when Gu Bon-hyeok singled home Park Dong-won, then made it 5-2 on Park Hae-min’s RBI single in the fifth. Oller answered by striking out the side in the sixth, ending his outing with the Tigers still three runs ahead.
KIA restored a four-run margin in the seventh. Park Jae-hyun doubled, moved to third on Kim Do-yeong’s fly ball and scored on Na Sung-bum’s sacrifice fly. Na finished with two RBIs, while Castro had two hits, one RBI and one walk.
LG pulled one run back in the eighth, but Jeon Sang-hyun entered with two runners aboard, struck out Lee Jae-won and retired the side in order in the ninth. He recorded the final four outs, including three strikeouts, for his second save in as many games.
KIA can now clinch a place in the playoff round against the Samsung Lions with one more win. Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.
