Jung Soo-bin passes Kim Dong-joo
Soo-bin made history in the second inning with an infield single to third base. The hit gave him sole possession of the Bears’ career record and added a personal milestone to one of Doosan’s most complete victories of the KBO season.
He later drove in two runs during a four-run seventh inning as Doosan turned the game into a blowout. Soo-bin finished with multiple hits, while Park Chan-ho and Kim Min-seok each produced three-hit games.
Doosan’s entire lineup joins 20-hit attack
Unio Severino opened the scoring with a solo home run in the second. Doosan broke the game open one inning later when Park Jun-soon delivered an RBI infield single, Yang Eui-ji hit a two-run homer and Yang Seok-hwan followed with a solo shot for a 5-0 lead.
The Bears finished with 20 hits and four home runs. Kang Seung-ho supplied the fourth homer in the eighth inning, and all nine starters recorded at least one hit and scored at least once.
Doosan’s outburst also ended Samsung’s six-game winning streak. The Lions had to make a late pitching change when scheduled starter Chris Fiddix was scratched with back discomfort, leaving Lee Seung-hyun to start.
Benjamin completes fifth straight winning start
Wes Benjamin protected the early lead with six scoreless innings. The left-hander allowed three hits and two walks, struck out three and earned his ninth victory of the season. It was his fifth consecutive winning start.
Park Chi-guk, Kim Young-hyun and Kim Han-joong each worked a scoreless inning to finish the three-hit shutout.
The loss left second-place Samsung at 82-53-3 and reduced the KT Wiz’s magic number for the KBO regular-season title. Doosan improved to 71-64-5 after combining a historic individual achievement with a dominant team performance.
