Brewers Tie Franchise Record With 97th Win as Robert Gasser Shuts Out Orioles
The Milwaukee Brewers tied their franchise record with win No. 97 as Robert Gasser threw seven scoreless innings in a 1-0 victory over Baltimore.

The Milwaukee Brewers matched the franchise record with their 97th victory of the season Saturday, beating the Baltimore Orioles 1-0 behind seven scoreless innings from Robert Gasser at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Milwaukee improved to 97-58, equaling the win total set by the 2025 club with seven regular-season games still to play. Already assured of a fourth consecutive NL Central title and an eighth postseason appearance in nine years, the Brewers now have a chance to establish a new franchise high in the final week.
Gasser delivers seven scoreless innings
Gasser allowed three hits and three walks across seven innings, striking out two and keeping Baltimore off the scoreboard despite a bases-loaded threat in the sixth. The left-hander escaped that inning by inducing Christian Encarnacion-Strand into a double play.
Abner Uribe handled the eighth before Aaron Ashby worked a perfect ninth for his third save. The combined four-hit shutout was Milwaukee’s 11th of the season and its first 1-0 victory of 2026.
Baltimore starter Trevor Rogers was nearly as difficult to solve. Rogers worked eight innings, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out 10.
A lost fly ball produces the only run
The decisive sequence came in the second inning. Orioles right fielder Rece Hinds lost Joey Ortiz’s fly ball in the sun, allowing Ortiz to reach third. Gary Sánchez then brought him home with a groundout.
That single unearned opportunity was enough for Milwaukee’s pitching staff. The Brewers managed only three hits and one walk but protected the lead for the final seven innings.
Milwaukee has a chance to make franchise history
The Brewers’ 97 wins match the 2025 team that finished 97-65. This year’s club reached the mark with seven games remaining and owns the best record in Major League Baseball.
Milwaukee closes the series in Baltimore on Sunday with Jacob Misiorowski scheduled to face Brandon Young. One more victory would give the Brewers their first 98-win season in franchise history.
