Jackson Chourio Walk-Off Gives Brewers 2-0 NLDS Lead
Jackson Chourio hit a two-run walk-off single as the Brewers beat the Padres 4-3 and took a 2-0 lead in the 2026 NLDS.

Jackson Chourio lined a two-out, two-run single into center field in the bottom of the ninth inning on Sunday, October 4, giving the Milwaukee Brewers a 4-3 walk-off win over the San Diego Padres and a 2-0 lead in their National League Division Series.
Milwaukee entered the ninth trailing 3-2, but three walks against Padres closer Mason Miller loaded the bases. Chourio then turned around a 101.3 mph four-seam fastball at 109.5 mph, scoring Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick to end Game 2 at American Family Field.
Brewers survive three errors
The finish rescued an uneven afternoon for Milwaukee. The Brewers committed three errors, matching their season high, and repeatedly gave San Diego extra chances. Ty France capitalized with two run-scoring singles, including a seventh-inning hit that put the Padres ahead 3-1.
San Diego starter Michael King was nearly untouchable early. He retired the first 14 Milwaukee hitters and finished with six strikeouts over five-plus innings, allowing one earned run on three hits without issuing a walk.
The Brewers stayed close. Sal Frelick singled home Yelich in the fifth, while a seventh-inning fielding and throwing error by Jake Cronenworth allowed Garrett Mitchell to score and cut the deficit to one.
Chourio delivers with the series on the line
Miller carried the 3-2 lead into the ninth and retired Andrew Vaughn for the second out, but Milwaukee kept the inning alive. After the bases filled, Chourio attacked Miller’s 2-2 fastball and drove it cleanly into center field before the Padres could escape.
The hit gave Chourio four RBIs through the first two games of the series. It also completed Milwaukee’s second comeback victory in as many NLDS games after the Brewers rallied 42 times during the regular season.
Trevor Megill earned the win with a scoreless ninth. Miller took the loss and was charged with two earned runs over 1 2/3 innings.
Milwaukee one win from the NLCS
The best-of-five series now moves to Petco Park in San Diego, where the Brewers will have three opportunities to secure a place in the National League Championship Series. Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday night.
For the Padres, the challenge is immediate: they must win three consecutive games after letting a late lead slip away. Milwaukee, despite its defensive mistakes, is one victory from advancing.
