European club baseball will crown the first Baseball Champions League Europe champion this weekend, with Draci Brno, Curaçao Neptunus, Parma 1949 and Tenerife Marlins meeting at YD Baseball Arena in Brno on September 26-27.

The Final Four is the conclusion of the competition’s inaugural season under the WBSC Baseball Champions League banner. Saturday’s semifinals pair Parma with Tenerife at 12:00 local time before host Draci Brno faces Neptunus at 19:00. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 18:00, following the third-place game at 11:00.

Four clubs, one first European BCL title

The field brings together four of Europe’s established club programs from Czechia, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain. All four advanced from the May group stage in Rotterdam and Regensburg, where eight clubs competed for four places in Brno.

Parma arrives as the only Final Four team that went unbeaten in the opening round. The Italian club finished 3-0 in Regensburg and scored 31 runs across its three games, including an 18-5 win over Guggenberger Legionäre on the final day.

Draci Brno took the second qualifying spot from that group at 2-1. Their decisive result was a 9-3 victory over Oosterhout Twins, with Martin Pernička homering twice and driving in five runs. The Czech club now gets the added advantage of playing the knockout stage at its home ballpark.

Neptunus returns to Brno as a leading contender

Curaçao Neptunus won the Rotterdam group after one of the strongest opening-round performances in the tournament. The Dutch club outscored its opponents 24-4 and hit .337 as a team, the best batting average among the four finalists.

Neptunus opened the group stage by beating Tenerife 15-4, but the Spanish champion recovered to claim the second Final Four berth. That earlier meeting adds another layer to the knockout weekend: both clubs already know what the other can bring if they meet again in Sunday’s medal games.

Veteran Dwayne Kemp remains one of the central pieces in the Neptunus lineup, while Tenerife brings an experienced core that includes Lesther Galván and Yancarlo Franco.

2026 BCL Europe Final Four schedule

  • Saturday, September 26, 12:00: Parma 1949 vs. Tenerife Marlins
  • Saturday, September 26, 19:00: Draci Brno vs. Curaçao Neptunus
  • Sunday, September 27, 11:00: Third-place game
  • Sunday, September 27, 18:00: Championship game

All four games will be played at YD Baseball Arena in Brno.

Why the first BCL Europe title matters

The weekend represents more than another European club trophy. Baseball Champions League Europe is the European arm of the WBSC’s wider club competition project, designed to connect elite club baseball across continents under a common Champions League structure.

Europe’s opening edition began with clubs from five countries. The Final Four now guarantees that the competition’s first champion will come from Czechia, the Netherlands, Italy or Spain.

For Draci, the opportunity comes two years after the club became the first Czech team to win the Baseball European Champions Cup. Neptunus and Parma bring decades of European competition experience, while Tenerife has established itself as Spain’s leading international club representative in recent seasons.

The format leaves no room for recovery: one semifinal decides who reaches Sunday’s championship game. By Sunday evening, one of the four clubs will hold a title no European team has won before.
