David Peralta Caps Seven-Run Bravos Comeback With Walk-Off Hit
David Peralta delivered the walk-off hit as Bravos de Margarita erased a six-run deficit to beat Leones del Caracas 11-10 in the LVBP.

PORLAMAR, Venezuela — Bravos de Margarita were six runs behind with just six outs left on Thursday, October 29. Two innings later, David Peralta was being mobbed by teammates after his walk-off single completed an 11-10 victory over Leones del Caracas at Estadio Nueva Esparta.
Margarita scored four runs in the eighth and three in the ninth to erase a 10-4 deficit. The seven-run comeback turned what had looked like a comfortable Caracas win into one of the most dramatic finishes of the early 2026-27 Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) season.
Olivares sparks the rally, Peralta finishes it
Leones built their advantage with a three-run homer from Yonathan Daza in the second inning and further damage in the middle innings. Víctor Bericoto’s solo home run in the top of the eighth made it 10-4. By then, Caracas had scored in five different innings and appeared firmly in control.
Edward Olivares changed the mood immediately. He opened the bottom of the eighth with a solo homer off Adbert Alzolay. Hits from Diosbel Arias, Alexi Amarista and Peralta helped produce three more runs, cutting the deficit to 10-8.
Olivares then led off the ninth with a triple. A fielder’s choice brought him home, and Arias tied the game with a single to center. After another Amarista hit and an intentional walk to Carlos Jesús Pérez, Peralta lined a single to center field, sending Arias across the plate with the winning run.
Peralta finished 4-for-5 with two RBIs. Olivares was equally important: he collected four hits, including a homer and a triple, and drove in five runs, his highest RBI total in an LVBP game. Bravos finished with 18 hits to Caracas’ 12.
A comeback built on refusing the final out
The finish was particularly painful for Leones, whose bullpen could not protect a six-run cushion. Sandy Gastón took the loss, while Cristian Alvarado earned the win after a scoreless ninth for Margarita.
Peralta emphasized afterward that the Bravos had kept competing even when the game seemed lost. The result gave Margarita a third consecutive victory over Caracas in their season series, while showing how quickly a winter-league game can change once a bullpen begins to unravel.
For Bravos, the lasting image was not the 10-4 deficit. It was Peralta’s final swing and the celebration that followed.
