Taiwan Series Draws Record 230,615 Fans at Taipei Dome
The 2026 Taiwan Series drew a record 230,615 fans across six games at Taipei Dome, the first CPBL championship series above 200,000.

The 2026 Taiwan Series drew a record 230,615 fans across six games at Taipei Dome, becoming the first championship series in Chinese Professional Baseball League history to exceed 200,000 admissions.
The landmark total capped a series in which the Wei Chuan Dragons defeated the CTBC Brothers 4-2, but the scale of the crowd was a story of its own. Every game was staged at Taiwan’s largest indoor baseball venue, turning the first Taiwan Series between the Dragons and Brothers into the best-attended championship matchup the league has seen.
A new Taiwan Series attendance standard
- Total attendance: 230,615 over six games
- Average attendance: 38,436 per game
- Sellouts: Games 1, 4 and 5 each drew 40,000
- Previous record: 153,395 over five games in 2025
The 2026 total exceeded the previous record by 77,220 fans, an increase of just over 50 percent. Even after accounting for the extra game, the average rose from 30,679 in 2025 to nearly 38,436 this year, a gain of more than 25 percent.
Games 1, 4 and 5 each reached the announced 40,000 capacity. Game 2 drew 39,568, Game 3 brought in 32,869 and 38,178 attended the decisive Game 6 on Monday, October 26.
Taipei Dome changes the championship scale
The record illustrates how quickly Taipei Dome has altered the ceiling for professional baseball in Taiwan. Previous championship series were spread across smaller outdoor ballparks, limiting the number of fans who could attend even when demand was strong.
This year, both clubs used Taipei Dome as their home venue throughout the series. The arrangement kept every game in the same 40,000-seat building and gave two of the CPBL’s most popular teams room to turn the long-awaited “Dragons versus Brothers” final into a national event.
The three sold-out games alone attracted 120,000 fans, a figure that would rank among the highest full-series totals in league history.
Dragons finish the record series with a title
Wei Chuan closed the series with a 6-0 victory in Game 6. Cristopher Mercedes pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out six, as the Dragons secured the sixth championship in franchise history.
The title was Wei Chuan’s second since returning to the CPBL, while the attendance record gave the 2026 final another lasting place in Taiwan baseball history.
