Chase Harlan Hits 451-Foot Homer in Four-Hit AFL Night
Chase Harlan went 4-for-5 with a 451-foot homer and three RBIs as Glendale shut out Mesa 10-0 in the Arizona Fall League on October 22.

Chase Harlan delivered four hits, three RBIs and a towering 451-foot home run as the Glendale Desert Dogs shut out the Mesa Solar Sox 10-0 on Thursday, October 22, in the Arizona Fall League. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ No. 9 prospect finished a triple short of the cycle in one of his most complete offensive performances of the fall.
Harlan went 4-for-5, scored three times and helped Glendale turn a difficult stretch into its most emphatic win of the week. The Desert Dogs entered the game having lost 12 of their previous 15 contests, but their lineup collected 14 hits while five pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout at Sloan Park.
Harlan makes the adjustment, then unloads
The 20-year-old third baseman grounded out in his first at-bat before stringing together four consecutive hits. His second trip produced an opposite-field double off a slider, a marked improvement after he had rolled over a similar pitch earlier in the game. The double left his bat at 103.6 mph.
After an infield single, Harlan punished a cutter in the seventh inning for a two-run shot measured at 451 feet. The ball came off his bat at 112.1 mph, the game’s hardest-hit ball. He added another single later, giving him four hits, three runs and three RBIs.
It was Harlan’s third Arizona Fall League home run. The Dodgers selected him in the third round of the 2024 draft, and he had already earned California League Player of the Month honors in May after batting .388 that month for the Ontario Tower Buzzers.
Glendale’s pitching finishes the job
Wyatt Sanford set the tone with a leadoff home run, while Caleb Bonemer supplied three hits and three RBIs. Glendale scored in five different innings and never let Mesa build an offensive response.
Briggs McKenzie worked five scoreless innings to earn the win, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four. Sam Horn, Nick Altermatt, Jonathan Clark and Mathias LaCombe covered the final four innings without surrendering a run.
Glendale returns to action Saturday against the Scottsdale Scorpions. For Harlan, the four-hit night offered another indication that his power can translate against the high-level prospects assembled in Arizona.
