Rubén Ibarra Drives In Four as Naranjeros Take LMP Lead
Rubén Ibarra homered and drove in four as the Naranjeros beat Nayarit 11-4, improved to 6-1 and took sole possession of the LMP lead.

Rubén Ibarra homered and drove in four runs as the Naranjeros de Hermosillo erased an early deficit and beat the Jaguares de Nayarit 11-4 on Wednesday night, moving to 6-1 and taking sole possession of first place in the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico.
Hermosillo fell behind by three runs in the first inning but answered immediately, then broke the game open with a five-run third. The Naranjeros finished with 18 hits in their most complete offensive performance of the young LMP season.
Ibarra powers Hermosillo’s comeback
Ibarra supplied the biggest swing, hitting his third home run of the season and finishing with four RBIs. Nick Solak drove in three more runs, while catcher Sergio Burruel went 3-for-3 as Hermosillo’s lineup applied pressure from top to bottom.
The Naranjeros scored twice in the bottom of the first and three times in the second before their five-run third created decisive separation. Reivaj García also drove in two runs during the attack.
That response mattered after Nayarit’s Marcos Castañón and José Manuel Orozco homered in the opening frame. What looked like an early challenge for the league leaders quickly turned into another demonstration of the depth in Hermosillo’s order.
Ríos settles in after difficult first inning
Starter Wilmer Ríos recovered from the rough opening and worked five innings to earn the victory. He allowed four runs, but only one was earned, keeping the Jaguares scoreless long enough for the Naranjeros’ offense to take control.
For Hermosillo, the win extended a fast start built on more than one narrow escape. The Naranjeros have now won six of their first seven games and sit alone atop the standings, while Nayarit has lost six of seven.
The result also gave the Naranjeros another early-season marker after their dramatic home-opening victory over Mexicali. This time there was little late suspense: Ibarra and an 18-hit attack turned a three-run hole into a seven-run win.
