Hroši Brno Win First Czech Extraliga Title With 11-Inning Game 7 Comeback
Hroši Brno win their first Czech Extraliga title, rallying from 5-0 down to beat Kotlářka Praha 8-6 in 11 innings of Czech Series Game 7.

Hroši Brno are Czech Extraliga champions for the first time in club history after erasing a five-run deficit and beating Kotlářka Praha 8-6 in 11 innings in the decisive Game 7 of the Czech Series on September 19.
Brno trailed 5-0 after five innings at Markéta in Prague, but a comeback built around Tomáš Říčný and Ryan Johnson forced extra innings before Hroši scored three runs in the 11th. The victory completed a 4-3 series win and ended a run of consecutive runner-up finishes for Hroši.
Ryan Johnson’s grand slam changes Game 7
Kotlářka controlled the first half of the game, scoring twice in the second inning and three more times in the third. Hroši did not get on the board until the sixth, when Říčný hit a solo home run to cut the deficit to 5-1.
The championship game changed one inning later. Hroši loaded the bases and Johnson drove a grand slam over the fence, tying the game 5-5 and wiping out Kotlářka’s five-run advantage.
Neither team scored in the eighth, ninth or 10th. Hroši finally broke through for three runs in the top of the 11th to take their first lead of the game, 8-5. Kotlářka answered with one run in the bottom half but could not extend the series any further.
Dominguez leads a 16-hit Hroši attack
Antonio Dominguez produced five hits in six at-bats for Hroši in the title-clinching game. Johnson drove in five runs, including the four on his game-tying grand slam, while Říčný finished with three hits and two RBIs.
Hroši collected 16 hits overall. Kotlářka finished with 10 hits and left 12 runners on base, while Brno stranded 11.
Third straight Czech Series ends with Hroši on top
The title comes in Hroši Brno’s third consecutive appearance in the Czech Series. After falling short in the previous two seasons, the club finally completed the last step in 2026.
The route through the final was anything but straightforward. Hroši held a 2-1 series lead after three games before Kotlářka won Games 4 and 5 to move within one victory of the championship. Brno responded with a 5-1 road win in Game 6 and then came back from 5-0 down in Game 7.
Hroši become the fifth club to win the Czech Extraliga championship and the third champion from Brno, joining Draci Brno and Technika Brno. Defending champion Draci finished third in 2026 after beating Eagles Praha in the bronze-medal series.
